Flowers!

The tulips are blooming! We've got so many colors going now, I love it.
I put some cloches (plastic domes) over the new seeds I planted in the back.

Below are some white crocuses that bloomed earlier.

This spinach is left over from last fall.
I planted some lettuce last fall and it didn't come up but I think this is it now starting to grow.
I started some basil seeds indoors. I planted too many seeds in each spot. I didn't think they would all grow!

I found a four-leaf clover in the yard. :)

Buds

The tuplis are almost ready to pop! There are buds on the tree and the lilac bush has a few leaves going.
And after a whole year of the rhubarb looking like it was going to die it seems to have new life.
I mowed the lawn today. It had really grown but there has been so much rain I haven't been able to mow. I threw the grass clippings on the garden to keep down weeds.

Spring!

It's two days into spring and I decided to plant some seeds! I heard that you can plant chard this early so I got some chard, radish, and beet seeds at the store. Then I had to figure out how to get the seeds planted with all of the ground cover I had planted.

Luckily Mark came to the rescue. We dug a big hole and turned under the ground cover and then planted the new stuff. We just planted part of one box. I'll save the other box for May.

I planted some onions and garlic last fall and they are all growing pretty good. I think I planted too many. I'm having trouble remembering which are the onions and which are the garlic. We had to work around a large cilantro plant (in front) that seemed to do really well over the winter.

My bulbs are doing well too, Hyacinth and Daffodils. The tulips are getting ready to bloom next. I probably shouldn't have planted bulbs along the garden box because we keep tripping over them.

We are getting a pineapple express this weekend so the seeds should get a good drink.
